We Can Bring It!

Immerse your students in the Universe with Polaris our digital portable planetarium. With Polaris you will be able to stand on the Moon and look back at Earth, experience a Martian sunrise, and even see what the Milky Way galaxy looks like.
If you are ready to book, fill out the Starlab Inquiry Form (opens in a new window). The form has all the information we need to start your booking. If you need more details, read below for answers to frequently asked questions.

One day of Starlab programming is $450 per day plus mileage; travel time and accommodation, if applicable, plus applicable taxes. Travel time is charged to schools except Vancouver SD39. For schools located outside the Metro Vancouver Area, accommodation fees apply.  In addition, if Starlab requires cleaning because of the space provided, a cleaning fee will be charged.
Full payment is required upon booking. We cannot provide you with a quote for a booking until you provide preferred dates for a visit.

Polaris Is Big!

Polaris is a large dome that can be easily set up in a school gym or drama room. The ideal area would have these features:
- Any space with a high ceiling
- Large room, at least 7 x 7 x 4 metres (or 23 x 23 x 12.5 feet)
- Indoors, clean and low-noise level area
- Access to two 110 volt outlets in close proximity
Because of the size of Starlab, if the area is not adequate for setting it up, our H.R. MacMillan Space Centre staff may need to request for an area that is more suitable.

We'll Fit Your Schedule

We will arrange the presentation schedule around your needs. For elementary schools we provide up to 6 presentations/day (20-30 minute presentations) and for secondary schools we provide up to 4 presentations/day (40 minute presentations).

Room For Everyone

A maximum of 30 students can be accommodated in each presentation (for elementary schools maximum of 180 students per day, secondary schools maximum of 120 students).
